Well sadly the time has come to sell Matilda campervan. She’s currently in Wales. We’ve had some lovely trips in her and some great memories. However times change and so do ones needs. We hope to sell Matilda van and use the income from her sale.To help us achieve getting our belonging s to Ireland and if lucky maybe abit left? To go towards a roof for our barn. Which we will do our selves to keep cost s down. Most likely with the help of trusty u tube. We’ve looked a few times at getting our belongings over to Ireland by a removal company however it’s very costly. Therefore my very amazing husband is going to give it ago alone and hire a van. To take our belongings from Wales onto the ferry over to Ireland. To make it possible and affordable to us.Also fingers crossed we might have abit left towards our roof.

Norwood Gardens.
This afternoon I went for a little stroll around Norwood Gardens.
Theses Gardens are only about 5 minutes from where we are staying.
Beautiful little spot with a few small individual gardens.
The cottage garden the prettiest in my opinion.

Back to Wales!! Poppit beach.

Well we had to return to Wales again!
Why I will explain in another post.
However today I will keep it short.
It’s evening now at Cwmiar Farm the sheep have just been sheared and the sun is setting over sunset view cottage.
We had a lovely sunny day out at popit beach.
Bridgits Garden, Co Galway.
little further afield that we would normally travel from home for a day out. These beautiful gardens were about 1hr 30 minutes from our home. However people had told me they were very nice.So we took a visit.Lovely sunny day to visit these celtic inspired gardens. We enjoyed the pretty flowers and the sun on our backs. These garden will have inspired some ideas for our own for sure!!😊🌸🌸

A bag of not very good potatoes. 🤔
OK so I am aware that normally you have seed potatoes and you chit them before planting out. Also there’s early and late potatoes for different seasons. So the last few bags of potatoes we’ve had from the shops and also groceries have not been great. Some rotten ones and others soft.So we chitted a few up in the polytunel.Dug abit of land and have chucked them in.Experiment really they might grow we will see 😉.Also plant some peas at the bottom of a fence in the hope they will grown up it?So waiting game now we will see.Few days ago I planted some sorrel and today I saw very small leaves coming through.Oh and my first picking of a vegetable from my garden was today.Just picked a few baby Kale leaves was so wanting to try them. They were great.

A work in progress.
It’s been a beautiful warm day today, with bright blue sky’s and fluffy white clouds against the back drop of green fields and trees.
Hubby and my son have been busy mowing and strimming the land which is very time consuming.
However I think once it’s been achieved it will be easier to keep on top of it.
There’s lumps, bumps, rubble, plastic, rubbish, brambles and weeds to tackle.
My husbands been wearing ear defenders and visor due to the noise plus all the flies, knats, and flying grass. Today he’s added a tea towel to the fashionable look!! To drap down his neck to keep the sun and knats of.
I’ve found 2 more gooseberry brushes so 6 in total. I’ve been weeding around them and pulling all the grass out which was as tall as the bushes.
I’ve also added some chicken poo pellet, organic fertiliser around them in the hope it might make them keep strong and develop more fruit.
Some of the roses in the garden have opened up due to the nice sun and the warmth of the sun is making the perfume of them fill the air.
We’ve had to have a skip hired as the people before left alot of stuff around which was rubbish or broken. It’s taking a time removing and pulling out rubbish but the skip is filling fast.
The places is starting to look clearer and neat 😊.

Sweet smelling roses

Home in Ireland 🍀🍀🍀🇮🇪🇮🇪🏡🇮🇪🇮🇪🍀🍀
After nearly 4 months and loads of ups and downs with paperwork and on going solicitors emails and phone calls.
Today!!! Was the day we completed the sale.
We now have a home and new life in a new country. Ireland we are happy beyond words still in shock and it might take a time to sink in.
It’s been a very long journey to get to this point but we did it.
There’s no going back, just stepping forwards with life and I’m sure we will face many challenges and alot of new doors will open up along the way.
So thankful we stuck to our ways and now have a home at last.
Extremely blessed, relevied and thankful that we finally have a roof of our own.
Before I left UK a dear home educating mother friend of mine.
Gave my family a beautiful good luck fruit cake.
We’ve travelled with this well preserved fruit cake over 7 months through England Wales and Ireland.
Today we celebrated our new home with a slice of this beautiful cake.
Thank you Gemma.

We unearth more great finds 👍❤️
When you take on some else’s home and land you have no idea what you might find.On first look at the plants and garden you have some idea of what’s growing in the way of trees, plants, flowers and fruits. However I guess you need to do a whole 12 months or even abit more to see what develops and grows in all the seasons. We are so grateful as the people before us have planted a small orchard of fruit trees about 12 in all. However on closer inspection some look abit sickly and we need to read up on the health and care of apple and plum trees. We are sure the plum is diseased 😒 that we will go into more details when we know more. We’ve got about 20 black currant bushes! All fruiting well just hope we get enough sun to rippen them. There’s also about 10 red and white currants don’t look as healthy as the blackcurrants so that will be a learning curve and reading up on.The fabulous surprise of the day.Underall the overgrowth we unearth 3 healthy gooseberry brushes.Which we need to weed around feed with some good nutrients and look after so the fruit hopefully keeps developing for this year 😊.I’m smiling from ear to ear with my happy find of 3 fruit bushes today.
Hidden history.
So we’ve been told our cottage is more than a 100 years old.
As we work to tidy the land and cut the weeds and grass down.
We unearth things just like an exiting treasure hunt 😊.
History of times gone by are being found all around us.
We will keep the items, to remind us of times gone by and honored who ever lived and worked on the land before us.
Here would have been a tiny farmers house and his land.
I’m sure it was a physically very demanding hard life to lead, but I believe maybe a calm solitude aswell?
I wish I knew who had used the rusty old plough found on the land or the wooden donkeys yock.
Maybe one day I will find out.
Until then I will find a safe places for the hidden treasures of this land 😊

Father’s day.
Well most years my husband has had to work on father’s day. As he always had to work Saturday and Sundays.Today we are all home together.Yes we’ve got a list that’s existing and as long as your arm! Of things that need repairing and working on around the house and land. However it’s important to stop our projects and tasks from time to time.Take time out to go somewhere all together. So even though the weather wasn’t the best, we made the effort to step away from other tasks and spend the day together having a walk.We went about 1 hour away from our home.By the time we got there it was raining. So we sat in the car to see if the weather might improve a little. While we waited we shared our tiffin can of mixed salad, olives, dates and nuts and a peanut butter sandwich each. The weather didn’t improve so on with the rain coats and walking boots. To spend a couple of hours taking a walk and exploring a new place.Beautiful even in the rain so must be amazing on a sunny day.Coming home for tea and home made lime cake and coffee cake. To finish the day in rain with bursts of sun and a whole rainbow over the garden stunning.A day that’s made me smile from within.

A fathers day together 😍
